“I feel an ancient calling to assist in global healing. As I offer up these healing gifts, I remember the ancient temple arts that my soul has returned to offer. I feel and see with all my senses, my soul lineage of supporting the collective through healing offerings. This lifelong journey, for which all of our souls have returned to heal and learn, provides us with everyday gifts for which we can turn. I am grateful to be a part of your journey.” -Ulonda Faye
Q & A with Sacred Energy Mandala Healing
Q: Ulonda, could you tell us about your diverse background?
A: Yes, with gratitude. My academic journey led me from the President of the Women’s Business Association in High School to a B.A. in Political Science, International Studies, and German in undergraduate school.
I studied Peace and Conflict Resolution with an emphasis on International Relations during my graduate studies in Germany, where I lived for 10 years translating and working for a variety of organizations. During this point in my life, I was preparing for the foreign service exam and was being tailored to work as a cultural diplomat in the embassies around the world. Having a deep passion for cultures, languages, peace and human rights, this felt ideal for my life path at the time.
Seeing all the needs for healing in the world through my work with the Human Rights Organization, Terre de Femmes, I began to notice that the greatest focus point needed for healing was to begin with the individual. I saw it within myself and I saw it with the partner organizations around the world I was involved in. My world began to expand at this time, and I saw cultural traumas and felt the deep need for healing all around. I then turned my focus completely to alternative healing modalities becoming certified in a wide-variety of healing traditions.
I have been a certified holistic practitioner since 2009, and every year I take on new modalities and deepen my healing work from the inside out as well as from the outside in.
Q: Ulonda, can you tell us about your travels, and if that has had an impact on you and your work?
A: Absolutely. Traveling began everything for me. I started traveling in 1997, while still living in my family’s midwestern home in the US. I traveled extensively from 1997-2012 living, studying, working and healing in Hawaii, southeast Asia, eastern and western Europe, Oceania and South America. I returned to live in the midwest from 2012-14 and then divided up my time for four years in northern New Mexico and a year in southern California.
At this time, I deepened my knowing in shamanism, energetic & vibrational medicine, herbalism and meditation, which I first began in 2009, with two initiations in 2012 as well as in 2016. Curanderismo and Native American healing traditions became more and more a natural integration in my offerings through living in these ancestral lands as well as through the guidance of native healers.
I offer a unique blend of all the elements of healing that I have gathered in my medicine pouch throughout the world.
Q: During a previous discussion, you had mentioned the sacred privacy that some of your teachers seek out. Could you tell us more about that and how it has shaped your work, Ulonda?
A: One thing I have learned is that many gifted healers are not and prefer not to be in the lime-light. My primary energy medicine and shamanism teacher in Europe is one of those precious souls. I am grateful that they found me. “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.” This quote has proved to be true for me.
This way of being has been passed down to me through my European and South American teachers. They are private and I have come to understand the necessity of it. When we busy ourselves with marketing our unique niche in the healing arts, it can limit us tremendously as well as take away from our growth. My teachers walk the mystery path as do I.
One teacher we all have in common. That is the teacher within us. Please, always remember to go within. Trust it. Stay clear and your inner teacher will always guide you.
Q: How do you trust and know when you have found (or been found by) your teacher, and how do you use your guidance to distinguish between the true gifted teacher and someone who perhaps means well, yet is coming into it more from a business perspective? Do you have guidance for others on the sacred path?
A: I personally had a lot of growth to do in this area as there were a few instances where I thought this or that person was a teacher and even a friend, yet feelings of lower energies arose that fortunately made me aware of the illusion. What I have learned is this: If you feel any insecurity, competition, inferiority or need to dominate coming from her or him, that person is not your teacher. A true teacher empowers you and truly sees you. There may be some inner discomfort or resistance initially, simply because that comes with growth. Yet, you will never feel anything but unwavering love from a true teacher. I mean the real kind of love. Remember, love is understanding and love is not control or manipulation. A true teacher walks in integrity and is honest. Stay clear and you will be able to feel the difference from true love and acting loving. This is important.
Q: Thank you for sitting with us today. Would you like to close by describing yourself to us?
A: With gratitude. I consider myself a lover of humanity, a believer in inner and outer peace, and a facilitator for change. The facilitation of a heart conscious society is my primary work through all I do, and my greatest desire is to offer up a support system for those who are ready to embody their Higher Self in all they do. Like all of us, I am a lifelong student of the Divine. Thank you so much for your interview.
“May we walk the Earth together as one humanity here to be at peace within ourselves and with one another.
Welcome, this is a safe space of Divine light and love. See yourself whole and healed. That is your true nature.”
May All Beings Everywhere be safe, loved, healed, free and liberated from any and all suffering.
