My journey started out with a desire to change the world from the outside. I studied Political Science, International Studies, languages and cultures. Ultimately, my goal was to work in the foreign service, which felt natural to me growing up around different languages and cultures. I had a series of internships and jobs in those areas, and I accomplished many of my goals while creating a fabulous resume. I knew I was on my way, or was I?
At some point, I noticed I had a tendency to become ill quite frequently. I focused on eating healthier and exercising more, and I kept pushing forward. After being accepted into my master’s program in International Relations and Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Tübingen, I knew this was my next step to my goal. After 2 semesters into my program, I again began getting ill quite often. Once again, I looked to my nutritional as well as my physical component of health, and made adjustments. However, this time, it didn’t work. I became so ill, that I knew I had to stop my program. For the first time, I looked at my resume, and asked myself, “is this really me? Who am I?”
Our thoughts, emotions, and level of self-knowing influence our physical health. We must find a way to commune with our heart and soul, and go within.
During this time, I allowed myself to just be, and I spent a lot of time in nature. I rested, took great care of myself, and read things that really intrigued me. I began to take an interest in the health of the skin, since it’s our largest organ, and I had a desire to understand why I was getting skin rashes for no apparent reason. Things would affect my skin, that had no logical correlation. I was seeking out answers more and more on my own.
Most importantly, I began to place importance on emotional and physical balance in my life, and I began to learn about all kinds of healing modalities. There were many patterns and situations from my childhood, that had a deep impact on me. I realized I needed to look at the pain of some of those experiences, call them back up, forgive them, and heal them for good.
Ultimately it became clear to me that I am a very sensitive, unique, and intuitive soul, and that the way I was meant to help create peace and co-create a new world, would be through healing myself, and helping others to heal as well. If everyone who walked the earth was truly whole and healed, we would live in paradise. We would love and support each other. There would be no need for competition, and all would be supported. This, I believe strongly.
Shortly after becoming a certified wellness practitioner and holistic esthetician, I became a specialist for organic skincare and healthcare through Bio-Genesa GmbH, an herbal health and skincare company in Germany. I worked for a year as an assistant to an Osteopath and holistic Ears-Nose-Throat doctor. The connection between manual therapy, touch and positive affirmations became astoundingly clear to me. I took certified courses on Hawaiian traditional forms of healing through bodywork and ancient shamanic techniques. I additionally studied a Hawaiian massage form called Lomi Lomi Nui. Through the awareness that we all need a process to ‘check-in’ with our selves and others, I choose to additionally study Kinesiology.
During this time, I began to realize the importance of movement in our lives for healing the emotional and the physical. I took part in a dance group focusing on Hula dance, which I already had a great philosophical understanding of through my courses. It was wonderful. The release of what was, and the opening of new birth from the soul, became apparent in a deep way. I danced Hula, and grew a deep love and appreciation for Flamenco dance at this time, where the performances were healing for me to simply watch. Passion… We all need passion and expression in our lives. It was a fabulous creative outlet for me.
After a decade of deep learning, practice, and becoming my true self, I returned to the U.S., where I had lived for the beginning part of my life. Shortly after moving back, I had a Near Death Experience (NDE) during a bicycle accident. This challenged my whole being. I had already been experiencing cultural assimilation challenges, and difficulty re-integrating into the family of my birth. Now, due to a head and back injury, I needed to relearn many functions, as well as enhance my knowledge through finding herbal remedies for my bruised body and soul. I literally couldn’t remember anything from the day before. As more time passed, and I healed my memory challenges, I began to realize, that who I was before was not who I am now. To this day, it is very challenging for me to look at pictures of myself, hear my voice, or watch videos of my self from the time before my accident. I simply do not relate to the person I was before, though I have retained all of the wisdom and knowledge of my whole life, I do not have an emotional connection to who I was and the things and people in my life before my accident. It hasn’t been easy, but I have learned to see it as a gift. It too has it’s purpose, and I see it now as an initiation into the deeply spiritual side of life.
Due to this experience, my work has a deep spiritual touch. What I witnessed, and saw during that moment of dying, and what I additionally experienced once I came back, added a whole new dimension to my understanding of life. It provided me with a strong foundation, and a knowing that there is truly nothing to fear. For everything, even deeply painful experiences, has its reason. From that point forward, I have chosen to see every situation in my life as a great force of growth. I also now strongly believe that a strong spiritual connection is very important to our health and place in the world.
In order to give my mind, body and spirit the time it desired and needed to heal, I choose to spend the next three years working in the Wellness departments of health food stores assisting people with healing, while I continued to study on my own and learn about myself. I also worked as an assistant to an amazing healer, functional medicine specialist, and chiropractor. She helped me additionally understand the non-physical and spiritual experiences I continued to have happen on a regular occurrence. Sometimes, just her presence offered insight, and I didn’t even need to seek out guidance. I started to understand how people can open us up, and have that experience on us and in us. Sometimes, simply sharing energy and space can have this effect.
I moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico, in 2014, which is a deeply spiritual place for me. No where have I lived before, where a place speaks to me and through me. Once I moved to Santa Fe, some important lessons began to present themselves to me. Learning about energetic boundaries, individual projection onto a person or situation, shadow healing, angels and guides, and the great spirits of all directions that are always present. I enjoy studying Native American healing modalities, and have become a member of the Society of Shamanic Practices.
I also spent a year working for herbal, health and beauty companies in education and representation to their customers, which I still continue to enjoy doing for companies of absolute integrity. Writing, music, and singing have been very important in my life as well, and I know I can express myself in very important and much needed ways through these modalities.
Last year, I decided to strengthen my education by learning the Rejuv Miracles treatment. I studied with an N.D., Spiritual Minister, herbalist and teacher in the ancient temple work of Rejuv Miracles. When I give these treatments, it’s an experience I have never had before. The energy and intention is extremely important, and it has brought me into my current studies of energy work and healing. I continue to grow and learn in this area.
Growing up in a German-American family, and having had much of my schooling and life in segments in the US, Europe, Asia, and South America, I feel a great calling to assist in bringing healing to all peoples from all backgrounds. I first learned to meditate from a Spiritual teacher in Ecuador, who also taught me Spanish and Salsa. It was an unexpected exchange, and a great life-long friendship has ensued. I fluently speak English and German, and I have a deep love for Spanish and all things Latin and Native American. I continue to work on my Spanish language skills, and am looking forward to more trips to South America. A great deal of what I now know and understand began to take root in Ecuador, and I am deeply grateful to all my friends and family members there.
Healing has no borders ♥ Love is boundless ♥
I am based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, USA, and in addition to being a member of the Society of Shamanic Practice, I am also a member of the Flower Essence Society. I have experienced and witnessed a tremendous amount of healing through flower essences, and I continue to use and make vibrational remedies to further my consciousness and overall growth. I am grateful to the Spirit of the Flowers, and all plant medicine made freely, while abundantly available to humanity. We need only plant our garden, and watch it grow through love.
